Health Benefits and Learning How To Play Tennis
I recently read that, Tennis is not just for young, hard hitting people but it also offers several health benefits for individuals of all ages and skill levels. In fact to cite some of the facts, According to physician Ralph Paffenbarger who studied over 10,000 people over a period of 20 years, concluded that people who participate in playing tennis 3 hours per week cut their risk of death in half from any cause! That was amazing to know.
Not just that, According to Dr. Joan Finn and peers at Southern Connecticut State University, Tennis players scored higher in vigor, optimism and self-esteem. Not just that, they also found out that the players also score lower in depression, anger, confusion, anxiety and tension than other athletes and non-athletes.
It was debated that since tennis requires alertness and tactical thinking, it may generate new connections between nerves in the brain and thus promote a lifetime of continuing development of the brain.
Tennis also improves flexibility, stamina, speed and strength. Another advantage is that it works all the major muscle groups especially the hamstrings, quads, shoulders and upper arms. It truly is a full body workout.
All of these were reasons enough for me to give a serious thought about taking up tennis as a hobby, but soon I was left stranded thinking about learning how to play tennis! This was followed by my quest to find out tennis tactics that would work for me.
I knew that the Internet would help me find out more about Tennis and I started looking for some good sites. It was during this time that I came across a very good and informative site on how to play tennis. I think you should visit it and check out for yourself.
