Alternative Approaches Slows Down The Signs Of Aging.
Anti-ageing skin care products are very popular today; it is not unreasonable to want to continue looking youthful for as long as possible when you consider how much longer most of us are living! We achieve this with beauty products that synthesize the production of the protein collagen; twenty-five per cent of the skin’s protein is collagen. This area of anti-ageing treatments is connected to another group of products that help people to look young; we call them antioxidants, they aid the repair of cell damage associated with cell damage.
You probably know many anti-oxidants by name, including vitamin C, the use of which is still, even now, hotly debated in the science and nutrition community. The main problem when using any skin care treatments which use vitamin C is that oxidization can occur as soon as they have contact with the air.
To get around this some skin care treatments are based on derivatives of vitamin C, which are more stable and less expensive. Although these products are good, they cannot actually compare with vitamin C but fortunately vitamin E and alpha-lipoic acid are also anti-oxidants so can be used to gain the same effect.
The body uses vitamin E as an antioxidant and to increase the natural defense we have against sickness; it has been linked to resistance to a number of conditions including certain types of cancer. Lipoic acid, which is found inside every cell of the body, helps generate the energy that keeps us alive and functioning; an additional function is to repair skin damage caused by the normal aging process.
Other compounds called phytochemicals have proved to be beneficial in the formulation of anti-ageing skin care products; they are removed from various plants. Like lipoic acid, phytochemicals help reduce the occurrence of cancers; these include:
*Cancer of the Prostate *Cancer that attacks the Breast *Cancer that attacks the Colon
All of which are on the increase globally.
Some B-vitamins like B5, B6 and B12 are also in use for anti-ageing skin care products. The field of anti-ageing skin care products is vast and needs a great deal more research. Although current regimes are quite effective, there are many ways to combat the effects of time; there is still a long way to go however, before methods that successfully reduce the effects of age are commonplace.
With the research that is now taking place, many people are confident that in time, more effective, cheaper anti-ageing skin care products will be discovered. A person should never accept that everything science devises in relation to skin care and anti-aging is always going to be the best; we must not forget however, that there are many more natural methods we can all use to reduce the signs of aging on a regular basis. Regular sleep patterns, exercise, a good healthy diet and less stress, acupuncture, will all contribute to reducing the signs of ageing, for instance!
