Symptoms of Chronic Heartburn

Wearing clothes that are extremely tight around the abdomen can increase your symptoms because of the pressure it places on your stomach. If you have chronic heartburn and are overweight, then the extra weight is probably contributing to your symptoms. This is why it is suggested that you begin an exercise program and try to lose those extra pounds. This will take some of the pressure off your stomach that may be pressing the contents in your stomach back up your esophagus. If you have heartburn at night, then try elevating your head when you are sleeping as this can also help to relieve heartburn symptoms.
